For me, im still hoping honda will get new engine supplier & funder, or F1 will be kicking off with 18 cars on grid.... which also will give bernie a major headache & migrain for breaching contract with TV broadcaster (min 20 cars on grid)
Hmmm... what your opinion?.... A new hot sesoan or else?
OT:With global economic crisis, do simracer cut their budget.. ? You tell me :)

Good mara, good fiscal policy for your economy.
As for the signs of what is racing gonna be from spectators point of view, I have to say I'm optimistic that F1 will still provide good show for us. Particularly next season with all these new technologies and promise of better overtaking.
But be warned, should it fail to address the issue it wanted to address, it can fail really big time.

Abt overtaking, im not to sure. To me the biggest factor that affect overtaking is the driver. U have the balls to shave 0.2s per lap by going on the limit for 5 laps to get that 1s gap down, then probably u have some overtaking or some attempts to.

im not sure how much the retirement of HONDA from F1 will affect the sport. but, im pretty sure the season will kick ass as ever with FERRARI, MCLAREN, BMW, and some other midfield runners which are improving as time goes by. but, the more team of coz even better lah.
do simracer cut their budget?

To be honest, I'm not really convinced.
So many years in the sport and a huge budget thrown into it and all they have by way of results was Button's one-race win in Hungary 2006 and only because the front-runners screwed up (Alonso and the loose wheel nuts; Schumacher and the decision not to change his worn intermediates). Not much to show for all the effort and $$ wasted. They had a great season in 2004 with multiple podiums but that was BAR Honda back then. It went downhill after Honda bought over BAR's Brackley operation and turn it into a 100% works team. I think economic downturn is just a convenient excuse for the face-important Japanese culture. More face-saving to say that exit caused by economic circusmtances out of their control, rather than saying that they failed miserably against the F1 competition. The funny thing was F1 Racing Magazine had this to say "Would they still have quit had Button been World Champion ?" hehe
Same thing with Subaru and Kawasaki really ...when did they last win ?
As for Audi...there's really no serious competition for them at ALMS. One-horse race.

I agree it's more of a political face saving ploy than really is economic blunder. Anyway, it's just what I think without data and figures.
