According to InsideSimRacing report fr E3 this is not RBR replacement. The physics and handling have been tamed to suite gamepad users so they can sell more. RBR fan who reviewed did not like this one.
Same with Forza 3 and GT5. Those are not a full blown sim.

Race Sim Central got an early preview copy of the game..
QUOTE
Today, we received a preview copy of WRC 2010 from Milestone and Blackbean and I was told I can share anything I want with you (except a surprise that will be announced soon). So I decided to run the first stage of the career mode and record it for all of you to check out.
It’s in a Citroen at Portugal, all aids are off at the hardest level I could set things. I’m using a Fanatec GT3 RS to drive with.
My initial impressions are pretty much the way I expected them to be. Force feedback felt pretty good, physics felt good as well. There seem to be a few bugs in the controller setup and I was unable to map multiple controllers. I have sent an email to Milestone to tell them my problem. Looks like the build I have is from August 5th, so it may be addressed before launch. I was also told that this version is 90% complete.

WRC 2010: Group B Cars Announced as DLC
QUOTE
Upcoming title, World Rally Championship (WRC) published by Black Bean and developed by Milestone is set to be released on October 8th 2010. The title has already announced some downloadable content (DLC) to add to the already impressive list of cars.
The DLC consists of rally cars from the Group B era. In the early 1980’s manufactures felt the need to showcase their engineering capabilities, thus Group B supercars were born. Some of the quickest and most powerful rally cars were built with over 500+ horsepower, four-wheel drive and Kevlar bodywork. The Group B cars were banned after four years because of their involvement with accidents due to their crazy amount of horsepower and speed but has forever remained a favorite among rally fans.
