Kamal's karting gear

Kamal Afiq, tells us about his day, karting in the DRIVERS 2010 by MyKart.org. A petrolhead, he talks of the experience full of enthusiasm, a typical MSRians....a typical simracer. Himself, Zuljag and Piji is an avid karter, having sessions almost everyweek. Here is the report.

got there at 745 am. kept on smsing bro zul but didnt got any reply. well, he reminded me last night that he'll make it IF he can get up in time.
so, i guess he didnt tongue.gif. alright, registered myself, paid the fees and weighed. i was among the earliest to register smile.gif. by 830am the paddock started
to get crowded and by now i realized how intense the race will be in a good way. intense here refers to the fact that MOST of the drivers that came today
do look physically prepared and mentally. they came with all those fancy race suits etc2. well, i wasnt really far off either to be honest coz i brought
along my jacket+full face helmet (NON FIA approved)+glove+balaclava. well, long story short those who came today ARE INDEED motorsport enthusiasts.

Lukewarm response to Season 10 - updated with season promo vid
Written by Choe
Wednesday, 03 March 2010 16:53

Its has been very quiet in the tracks of MSR. Regardless of which one is loaded up. The excitement of acuiring the new dedicated server are not enough to attract runners for practice. Only occasional sound of a flat-12 engine and a turbocharger passing thru and empty paddock. Regardless, Choe (L-Plate Driver) found enough excitement to write his take of the race. It was the 2nd test race of the season (theres 3 of them). Number of racers on the starting grid - 5.

Regardless, Promo vids by EvoHahn, Ryugan n Azrink!

First of all, the turnout was really disappointing (5 guys). I had hoped for a larger grid. I remembered the test races from last yr had a packed grid of at least 15 drivers. Most disapointing was my teammate IHM who stood up the whole event despite having hassled me all week long to install the GP79 mod so that he can participate. "I'm too tired after playing afternoon badminton session" lar ...."I have to fetch my daughter from bus station at 5am" lar......all 101 damn blardy excuses. angry.gif

A snapshot of the battle between Evohahn and Soze

The gap between the race leader and Maranello55 was never too far and consistent. It is looking as if the decrease in track temp is affecting Mara's pace as Muaz cuts the gap by 0.5s per lap, from over 9 seconds to now just only 5 seconds. But its was Muaz time to pit, and Bonn2020 and arnaud, again.

Muaz inching in closer

As Kelvin exits the race, Ryugan overtook Hisham79. The power of the P1 is yet to be tamed by him. He spun on the throttle at the slippery exit of Fagnes. Afif sends one down on RonMD on the start/finish straight and RonMD gets another one from Zul. Kenny is right on his tail now.

Lap 1 La Source - Azrink n Din is not visible due to poor connection

Last Friday was MSR's Season 9 Round 3 in the daunting Spa Franchorchamps. It is a true 24 hours track and it is as hard as Suzuka. Despite the layout, the long fast corners are to be taken at the limit at almost all the time to ensure competitive laptimes.

 Suzuka line up

Last Friday was the 13th where 16 racers brave the Friday fatigue for the challenge of the ever daunting Suzuka. Prior to the race it was expected that the P1s would overcome the P2s in this long, high speed track. But it has been proven otherwise with Muaz and Madnoren dominating the qualifying session. Madnoren as the winner in Rattlesnake started on pole for the sprint but was jumped by Muaz who took the pole for the 90 minutes feature race. Ryugan returned from his long absence with a commanding 3rd on the grid behind Madnoren. Its the debut race for Kelvin, on the ps2 gamepad, starting from 6th place in between Antonio and Maranello55. The best of the P1s, evoHahn started on the 8th spot.

Arnaud reportedly has been kidnapped to his birthday party.
